Bathroom Darkroom Project, 2017 - 2018
The culmination of work produced for the Bathroom Darkroom Project resulted in an exhibition at the Grosvenor Gallery at Manchester School of Art, April 2018.
The idea of the project was to create photographic work in a pop-up Bathroom Darkroom set up in the home - a shared rental home - of the project creators, Lydia and Rachael. Artists were asked to respond to the house itself, and themes of housing, boundaries of public and private and the photographic process.
An accompanying exhibition catalogue has also been produced. This contains written pieces relating to themes of the project such as photography, the darkroom process and shared spaces. These responses are from participants of the projec,t and from submissions from other writers and artists with an interest in these themes.
I have contributed to this publication with a long form essay/musings, Living Space, Work Space, New Space. Read this here.
