MA History of Art candidate at Birkbeck, London, and aspiring researcher and writer.
Anna is interested in exploring issues of gender, race, and representation, particularly within the cultural legacies of slavery and colonialism in eighteenth and nineteenth-century British art. She is currently researching the presence of Black women in eighteenth-century British portraiture. Explorations of women’s art and experiences have been at the centre of Anna’s writing-, creative-, and work-related projects, and these interests have only deepened further during her master’s studies.
Anna is also an arts professional with over six years’ experience working in the arts, heritage and museum sector, and currently works at Bury Art Museum in North Manchester.
